ENHANCING SCHOOL CLIMATE BY SUPPORTING TEACHERS
A Free Pilot Project offered to Select Bay Area Schools
The Bay Area Moreno Institute is pleased to announce the availability of a free pilot program designed to enhance school climate by supporting teachers. We are fortunate to have Wiebke Meineke, a noted educator from Germany, working with us to re-create (and re-design as necessary) an eminently successful program that she conducted for 12 years in Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany.
We are seeking schools in the Bay Area to participate in this initial pilot at no charge.One of the problems of being a teacher is working alone and often isolated from colleagues, who, on the other hand, face the same challenges in their daily tasks working with their students. The program in Germany showed remarkable results in improving school climate for teachers and students alike. Teachers are paired into support partnerships, visit each other once a week in their classrooms to observe the process and give feed back, and discuss ideas while working together to support their implementation. Monthly all participants get together in a group,
conducted by Ms. Meineke.
About the facilitator
Wiebke Meineke is a native of Germany, currently living in Tiburon, California.
She completed her studies in Education at the University of Goettingen and worked for many years as a teacher.
In 1987, she began working for the Department of Education in the State of Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany as a member of the Baden-Wurttemberg planning group for quality development in vocational teacher training. In this capacity, Ms. Meineke conceptualized, developed and implemented central, regional and internal teacher trainings.
She studied Psychodrama at the Moreno Institute Goslar/Ueberlingen in Germany.
With the Bay Area Moreno Institute, she is now offering her training programs to teachers and schools in theBay Area and in Marin County.
