    Recovery and Healing

    Rebuilding spiritual, social and emotional connections, reclaiming self-esteem and getting in touch with feelings are ongoing tasks for those whose lives have been touched by addiction. Psychodrama is uniquely suited to address these tasks, facilitating the expression of a full range of emotions and increasing awareness of self and others.
    This workshop/training is applicable for psychotherapists, addiction and pastoral counselors, health care providers and anyone whose life has been touched by addiction. Participants will learn powerful tools to use in their own recovery process or in their work with others.

    Psychodrama with Survivors of Trauma
    with Mario Cossa, MA, RDT/MT, TEP
    926 Dwight Way – Berkeley, CA
     
    This workshop provides the opportunity to learn safe and effective action strategies for working with survivors of trauma, including elements of the Therapeutic Spiral Model ™ (TSM). Learn how to use the Trauma Survivor’s Intrapsychic Role Atom (TSIRA) to assess a client’s personality structure for strengths and containment, while exploring internalized trauma roles safely and effectively. Contact Mario: cossa@att.net
     
    Workshop Fees: $140 per workshop; Students $120.  (Pay in full at least 2 weeks in advance of workshop date and deduct $20 from regular fee.)  Some partial scholarships available.  Fee fully refundable up to one week prior; 50% refundable thereafter; no refunds on day of workshop.
     
    Continuing Education: All sessions approved for CEUs for MFT, LCSW (BBS947), Sylvia Israel, MFT, RDT/BCT, TEP, Provider.  Hours may also be applied toward Drama Therapy and Psychodrama certification.     What is Playback Theatre?  What is Psychodrama? What is Sociodrama?  How is each of these forms different?  How are they Similar?  WHen and where is the best way each can be used?  Can one be used in the service of the other?  How?
     
    This workshop will give a general review of each of these action methods.  We will then explore how they work, experiencing their differences, similarities, and how they might interface.
     
    Experiences practitioners will be able to contribute their skills and ideas, while anybody who is curious and willing to engage with these forms will get a taste of the world of action methods.  This workshop is appropriate for group leaders, teachwers, therapists, social acitvists, and other similarly-minded people.

    THE Space (926 Dwight Way, Berkeley) is a light, open, carpeted 24'X26'room ideal for group sessions. Colored scarves, a refrigerator and microwave, coffee maker and electric kettle, and available free parking round out the picture. Available evenings and weekends only.
